In 1900 the Austrian coach manufacturer Lohner, cooperating with the Belá Eggers Elektrizitätsgesellschaft, developed an accumulator carriage with batteries for voltages of 40 or 80 V. With a motor power of 3 hp this electric vehicle had a top speed of 85 km/h.
