The Segway was developed in the USA and is officially an "electric personal assistive mobility device". Despite its only having two wheels, the computer controlled vehicle - and its passenger - remain upright. At present they are expensive, but provide an interesting example of the many different means of environmentally friendly city transport with fun value available today.
