In 1899, this electric car broke through the historic 100 km/h barrier, establishing a new record with 105.882 km/h. The combined power from two electric motors amounts to 50 kW (68 hp). Then as now, the final breakthrough for electric vehicles is hindered by limitations in the capacity of the batteries. However, enormous progress is being made in this field.
